As a somatic psychotherapist I hold space for you to rest attention on your body, soothe the nervous system, and connect authentically with yourself. There is nothing more empowering than attuning with yourself and accessing your own wisdom and strength to make lasting change. A body-centered approach to therapy can help you go deeper with the work as it goes beyond traditional talk therapy. Interventions target non-verbal, subconscious material and allows you to find new and positive ways of being in relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you.

With attachment psychology I help you to understand how the past influences present. Unhelpful patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behavior in the present often developed as coping mechanisms for early relational wounds, usually with caregivers. While such patterns were necessary to survive distress in the past, they can be self-defeating as adults and destructive to intimate relationships. With ego state therapy I can help you learn to re-parent and heal your inner child, release old habits, and confidently move forward in life as your adult self.

At times, we will incorporate movement in session to help you further explore emotions and thoughts. When we communicate through our body, we are not expected to analyze, interpret, or string together a cohesive narrative. Movement can help you to release old patterns, restore a sense of control, and find a channel for connecting with your true self. The physical outlet of movement can also serve to release stress and build self-confidence. When movement is used in session it is never about performance or looking a certain way; it is simply the self-loving act of turning inward, listening, and expressing what can no longer remain silent.
